This book is a political documentary of what is happening in our world today. It is going to upset a lot of people because it brings out into the open a lot of controversial issues. It is called BETRAYAL because it deals with how we have all been betrayed and still being betrayed by the people at the helm in one way or another; chosen by us to do the right thing by us. But leaders for some hidden agenda that we know nothing about end by betraying us.
This book will make a difference, perhaps by giving a voice to the voiceless, hope to the hopeless and justify those who believe we are taking a wrong route.
We all have a duty towards humanity to bring peace and amity, to make the world a better place, if we can, for those who follow after us.

Growing Up: A Collection of Children’s Stories and Pet Stories
Almost all the stories for this book are based on real-life incidents. In the children’s stories section, a large number of stories are the direct result of what my children asked me when they were growing up and my responses. Some of the stories are based on the questions that our friends’ kids asked. One story is based on my daughter’s friend’s child.
All the pet stories are based on my/our pets in recent years. I’ve always had pets—some very unusual.
Most of the photos are from my family archive—where not otherwise specified and source acknowledged.
I hope you enjoy the stories and accept them in the spirit in which I offer them to you.

Death stalks us at all times in all innocuous places in all safe havens. Nowhere is safe. Environmentally, we are seeing the beginning of another major catastrophe. The climate is changing and who knows what could happen?

The poems are also meant to offer comfort because in life we often come across situations in which we need some comfort. A nice poem can easily offer that when there is one around to do so. Every negative situation is a learning curve. It is up to us to take the positives from it.

Exporting Democracy: Death or Slavery
The world is in ferment. The situation of today’s world is at its worst. There is trouble in every part of the world. We were supposed to have peace and prosperity at the end of the Great Wars. And for a few decades we did. The Cold War kept peace of sorts and no major wars were fought. But it all changed with the collapse of the USSR. We lost the balance of power and only USA dominated. At the moment there are wars all over the world on every continent – it is the super-powers attacking small nations. The excuses are taking democracy to those countries by force through war or war on terror. We are terrorizing small nations in the name of ending terror by bringing not only terror, but also death, destruction and annihilation in our wake.
This book sets out to comprehensively look at the reasons behind the present condition of the world today. It looks to uncover if there is any real democracy in the world today and the types of democracy available to us. Not everything is suited to everyone. We certainly do not want totalitarian rule in the name of democracy. But that is the way we are going. It is time to stop. Take stock and decide – do we want a better world or do we want to destroy this world?
Perhaps we are the final throes of our civilization and don’t even realize it!
